Sheriff Access serves us well and probably will continue to do for a long while, but the time has come to raise our sights to the next level, to redefine, to modernize...TO MAKE IT BETTER AND BETTER!!!!!  Development of Sheriff Access will not stop, but it is envisaged that larger offices will rather use Sheriff SQL, which offers rock solid integrity with large databases. IT IS POSSIBLE TO UPGRADE ANY SHERIFF ACCESS INSTALLATION AND CARRY THE DATA OVER TO SHERIFF SQL, SO NOTHING WILL BE LOST!
Sheriff SQL is the answer to your software requirements for the future, and it will carry us for many years ahead. Why? Simply because it will use one of the most solid and stable database systems available. I say this because it uses the power of one of the best database systems in the world - MySQL®. You now understand the reasons for upgrading. Is there a catch?
This is not micky mouse software, so you can't get it until you have the right infrastructure in your office. These are the minimum requirements:
  • Windows XPt (Service Pack 3)
  • Windows Vista or Windows 7
  • Lazer or Inkjet printer(s). Dot matrix printers can't be used.
  • A decent broadband Internet connection such as ADSL or 3G wireless. It must be connected to your server.
  • A live connection to Pro Systems on LogMeIn so we can work on your server from our office.
  • Proper protection to combat threats from cyberspace.
  • An external hard drive for backup's.

You will probably have most of these already. Yes, you must have the broadband connection - and its got to be on all the time. This is mandatory. If you are not prepared to do this then you can't use Sheriff SQL.
We don't expect you to understand the intricacies of database architecture but we do need to make you understand that this is indeed a huge step forward for our Sheriff software.

Contact Pro Systems telephonically on 082 565 0258. We'll take it from there. As soon as I'm satisfied that your office qualifies by having the right infrastructure, we'll start the transition process. However, installations will be done on a first come first served basis, so you may have to stand in line and wait for your turn.
